Designed to mimic the real world process of raising venture capital, The Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (TVLIC) offer valuable feedback to University of Texas graduate students about their new business ideas, many of who go on to launch their own business in the future. This year’s sixth annual E. Craig Nemec Elevator Challenge awards go to three teams that competed in TVLIC and gave the best pitches for their business in under two minutes. Included in one of the three awards was Jordy’s Plantain Chips, a purveyor of gourmet plantain chips from the regions of central and south America. Made without artificial ingredients, Jordy’s Plantain Chips are a preferable alternative to traditionally salty chips. Jordan’s business was awarded $1,000. The team also debuted their snacks on April 22nd at the Barton Creek Farmers Market and now you can visit them every Saturday from 9AM to 1PM for their original and sea salt flavors!
